Trapdoor Tales: The Island of Musical Birds
Lily and Tom discover how to make the magical birds sing
Alright, my little chickadees, gather 'round for a brand new Trapdoor Tale, one about a sparkling pond and some very special birds.
After their parents' goodnight kisses, Lily and Tom tiptoed to their rug. Tonight, it shimmered with a faint, blue light, like moonlight on water. They pulled back the rug and there it was – the trapdoor, glowing softly.
They climbed down the steps and found themselves at the edge of the most beautiful pond they had ever seen. The water was crystal clear and sparkled with tiny, golden flecks. In the middle of the pond was a little island covered in lush green grass and blooming flowers.
And on that island lived the most beautiful birds you could ever imagine.
Some had feathers the color of rubies, others like sapphires, and some had feathers that shimmered like pearls. Their voices were like tiny chimes, sweet and clear.
Lily and Tom wanted to get closer, so they found a little boat tied to a tree. It was made of smooth, polished wood and had sails that looked…
